Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to screen general public,under outreach activities for variousnon-communicable diseases, the National Program for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, CVD and Stroke (NPCDCS) Unit and Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) unit of District Srinagar under the aegis of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) has started health screening of inhabitants of Achan area of District Srinagar.
Outreach programme like these are routinely conducted by the department of health across Kashmir Division and as such the department will be screening all the residents of Achan area to ascertain their health status.
Till now three camps have been organized at Breawar, Tangbagh and Saidpora and a total of 1000 persons have been screened by a team of doctors from district Srinagar, NPCDCS and IDSP unit of Srinagar.The patients have been screened for various ailments and are being given free medicines also while as documented patients have been advised to approach nearest health centerfor further evaluation and follow up
