SRINAGAR: Gousia Cricket Club and Rizwan Royals recorded victories in their respective fixtures in Shaheed Aga syed Mehdi Memorial Cricket Tournament played at Budgam sports stadium on Monday.
The first game saw Rizwan Royals lock horns with Lucky Boys Humhama which former won comfortably.
Batting first Lucky Boys managed a score of 163 for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs with Aijaz Ahmad emerging as the top scorer with a 21-ball 40.
Adil Ahmads 30-ball cameo of 51 powered Rizwan Royals to the target of 164, almost three overs to spare. Adil was given man of the match award for match winning knock.
In the second fixture of the day, Gousia Cricket Club thumped Hyderia Cricket Club in what proved to be a one-sided tie. Batting first, HCC were bowled out for a paltry 112 in 19.2 overs with Mudasir and Sajad scoring a 20 each. Qayoom took a four wicket haul for GCC.
GCC made a light weather of target of 113, overhauling it in just nine overs. Qayoom was star with the bat as well scoring a 47 and taking home man of the match award.
The tournament- an annual affair- is being organised by Al Mehdi Foundation Budgam.
