Tral : Students at Govt Degree College Tral in South Kashmirs Pulwama district had been waiting for a bus for long. Bus to ferry students has arrived finally but without a driver.
The new bus was given to the college by the concerned MLA, last year in December, after several requests from the students but despite having the new bus now , students are still suffering, as college has failed to find a driver for the bus till date.
With new bus the number of buses in the college has now gone up to two. But these two buses will still not be able to address the transport issue as college has around six hundred girl students on roles who come from different areas of Tral sub division.
When Kashmir Observer, contacted Member of Legislature Assembly, Tral, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah , he said that I have already donated a bus worth Rs 16 lakh to the college last year but expressed surprise that the college authorities were unable to utilise this.
Principal Government Degree College Tral said that I am not authorised to place a driver without the consent from higher ups. He said once Director Higher Education Kashmir, will allow us to place a driver in the bus, we will proceed without any delay.
Meanwhile, A delegation of students have said that they are constantly suffering due to lack of bus facility in the college and requested higher authorities to personally look into the matter as early as possible so that students may not suffer more in future.
