SRINAGAR: Mir Yahya of 12th standard emerged victorious in the U-19 category of Burnhall Annual Cycle Race held in Srinagar on Wednesday. Ali Fazili (12A) and Shahzaib Shabir (11A) managed to take second and third spots respectively.
The race started from Burnhall School with Nishat Fore Shore Road being the finishing line. The race, according to a statement from Burnhall School, was flagged off by DySP Traffic Srinagar Sandeep Kour. Kour, according to the statement, encouraged students to take part in such events.
In the U-14 category, Majid Ahad Mir (7B) secured the 1st position. Tahoor Iqbal (7C) finished second while Inamul Haq (7A) had to contend with the third spot. Basharat Ahad (9B) was the winner in the U-17 category followed by Mujtaba (10A) and Romaan (10A) with second and third spots respectively.
The statement added that the race was assisted by the J&K Traffic Police on the route.
