Srinagar: The district administration Kupwara on Friday said that it has lodged an FIR against the killing of a civilian and has started investigation into the incident.
A civilian identified as Muhammad Yousuf Bhat was killed in Panzgam area of the district on Thursday during the protests following the killing of two militants in the area.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, G M Dar told KNS that a case has been registered in the civilian killing. Investigation has also been started into the killing, he said.
The FIR has been registered in Karalpora Police Station under FIR number 25/2017, under section 307 RPC.
