Kupwara: Three army men were killed Thursday morning in a pre dawn fidayeen attack on an Army camp in Panzgam area of Kupwara district in north Kashmir. Two militants have also been killed.
Sources said that the Fidayeen attacked the Artillery headquarters housing 155 Field regiment in Pangzam area at 4.30 am.
They hurled grenades and opened indiscriminate fire on the troopers, they said.
“An army captain and two other soldiers were killed,” said defence sources adding two militants were also killed in the gunfight.
Five soldiers were injured in the attack. “They were airlifted to the Base Hospital,” they added.
