SRINAGAR: Fateh Hyderabad Football Clubs solitary goal proved to be the difference as the visitors edged past hosts Lone Star Kashmir Football Club (LSKFC) in the final round fixture of Indian Football League (I-League) 2nd division played at TRC Astro Turf ground, Srinagar on Tuesday.
The game was played with a heightened security, but that didnt players from giving their all for the want of two important points with a decent crowd egging on the home side.
In a tense battle, goals were hard to come by for the both team, but the visiting side dealt a body blow to LSKFC in the first half finding the net to take a 1-0 lead. LSKFC aided by strong support from the crowd upped the ante with a goal in arrears but didnt find the net even as strong defence unit of FHFC was hard to surmount.
The first half goal from FHFC proved to be an unassailable difference as final whistle meant the two important points were bagged by the visitors.
LSKFC is the first professional side from the valley to participate in the I-league followed by Real Kashmir. In its second season, LSKFC has given a good account of themselves with team mostly comprised of local talent.
The latest loss though could have a huge bearing on them qualifying for the next round. As of the now qualification seems unlikely.
