Srinagar: Ridiculing the statement of Mehbooba Mufti, that before dialogue a conducive atmosphere needs to be created, Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani Wednesday said that it illustrates the egoistic and colonial approach of Indian authorities and they stand accountable for continuous mayhem in state.
They are not interested in seeking solution of Kashmir issue by involving all recognized parties, an APHC spokesman said.
It is a well-known fact, that Indian authorities feel shy in talking to resolve this issue, instead they rely on their military might to suppress peoples aspirations and muzzle voices, asserted Hurriyat, adding It is their old practice & their deceit that they are avoiding tripartite talks on one pretext or the other.
Hurriyat in its statement said that the deputations from Delhi visit during unrest and as soon as situation calms down, they turn away their eyes and start parroting about normalcy.
Stubborn attitude of Delhi is solely responsible for uncertainty, bloodshed in state & strained relations with Pakistan, said Hurriyat.
Hurriyat while referring to PDP, NC & Congress said that people have rejected these parties. They are now proved irrelevant for Delhi too and they should disassociate from power corridores and this is the only option for these parties.
War Waged Against People of Kashmir: Mirwaiz
Chairman of moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Dr Umar Farooq Tuesday said that a war has been unleashed on the unarmed people of Kashmir and the way atrocities are being committed on the people depict the worst form of state terrorism.
Mirwaiz who had been released last evening after 50 days spell of house arrest was addressing a large congregation at historic Ali Masjid in Srinagar. During his address Mirwaiz also spoke on the present turbulent situation in Kashmir and said that uncertainty at all levels is prevailing here, repression and suppression is at the peak. Be it cities, towns and rural areas, a war has been started against the population.
Rampant use of tear gas shelling, pellet shelling and bullets against the youth has become a routine in Kashmir. Our political, religious and social rights have been curbed by force and I personally was not allowed to offer Friday prayer for the last eight consecutive Fridays.
Condemning what he described as anti-Kashmir and anti-Muslim approach of the government, Mirwaiz said on the one hand blanket ban has been imposed on public rallies, seminars and political gatherings and inspite of all this these rulers are still talking of democratic values.
Denouncing the use of brutal force on students by the government forces, Mirwaiz appealed the International community to take strong notice of the uncertain political situation and grotesque human rights violations in Kashmir.
