Srinagar: The State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) employees on Monday staged a protest against the government for failing to regularize them from past several years.
Scores of SRTC employees assembled at Srinagars Press Enclave and chanted slogans like we want justice.
The protesters told KNS from past several years, the government is making tall promises with them regarding the regularization of their duties but unfortunately not even a single promise has been fulfilled with them.
We are on streets today to protest against the failures of the government in regularizing our duties. We have been urging the successive regimes to regularize our duties but unfortunately our plea went in deaf ears. We went from pillar to post to seek justice but unfortunately all in vein, the employees added.
They alleged that the officer in the SRTC had raised his voice against the government over the demands of employees but unfortunately, he was transferred by the authorities with an aim to muzzle the voices of employees.
Threatening to launch agitation against the government, the employees said, We will take streets against the government in case they failed to regularize our services at earliest.
However, the protesters later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
