SAMBA: The Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today said that Industrial Estates in Bari Brahmana, Samba and Kathua will get round-the-clock electricity supply for making Jammu, a hub of industrial activities in the State.
The Deputy CM said this after laying the foundation of Coke Bottlers Company, Kandhari Beverages at SIDCO Industrial Estate Phase-III in Samba.
Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga, MLA, Samba DK Manyal, Director, Industries and Commerce Department Rajinder Singh Tara, MD SIDCO Amit Sharma, Chairman & CEO, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages T Krishna Kumar and officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
The Deputy CM further said that concerted efforts are being made to make J&K self-sufficient in every sector. The State Government is committed to provide conducive and industry-friendly environment to woo the investors in sectors like infrastructure, pharmaceutical, horticulture, agro, food and fruit processing, textiles, tourism and hydro power, he added.
Dr Singh said that Kandhari Beverages in Samba will largely contribute towards the development of beverages sector in the region and also create opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment in the State.
He further said that the government has formulated a comprehensive policy to provide hassle-free services to the industrial estates in the State. He said J&K is moving forward to become a fast developing and state- of- the-art industrial hub.
The State Government under single window system has eased the process of clearances for setting up industrial units at affordable and subsidized rates, the Minister asserted. He said the government is providing several incentives to the entrepreneurs.
Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga, in his address, said the area would soon be developed into major industrial hub and Samba would prove to be a well connected industrial corridor with reputed business and commercial centres.
The new plant is being built in Industrial Area Samba at an investment of Rs 200 crore over 100 kanals of land.
The Minister informed that a first of its kind Technology Centre is coming up in Samba which would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 100 crore. The Government is working under a well-knit plan to accelerate the pace of industrial growth in the State, besides creating fresh job opportunities for locals, he added.
