Srinagar: Two engineers of Roads and Buildings department have been attached by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for violating Model Code of Conduct that is in force in view of the Parliamentary by-polls in Srinagar and Anantnag constituencies.
As per an order No. Div Com/Ps/Misc/order/2017/1763-1766, Dated 08-04-2017, the two engineers, Mohammad Ashraf Mir Executive Engineer city road R&B and Mr Mubaraki Assistant Engineer, have been attached with the office of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar till pending inquiry is completed against them. They had allowed construction of a road in Khanyar locality.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan has appointed Chief Engineer R&B as head of enquiry committee.
Mohammad Ashraf Mir Executive Engineer city road R&B and Mr Mubaraki Assistant Engineer R&B attached by Div com to Divisional Commissioner office for violating model code of conduct, the order reads.
The action has been taken after a complaint was filed against them by a resident of Khanyar who had complained that the two engineers had started construction of a road in Khanyar locality. (KNS)
