Srinagar: J&K Bank Chairman & CEO Parvez Ahmed today announced a cash reward of Rs 5,000/- to the security guard manning the ATM at Gousia Arabic College Qazigund for his act of wit and courage in thwarting burglary attempt on the Teller Machine.
During the intervening night of April 4 and April 5 2017, the said security guard who was locked inside the ATM kiosk by the miscreants raised hue and cry and called the locals over the cellphone. Locals came rushing to the spot and prevented the attempted burglary.
Expressing his deep sense of gratitude to the locals who came rushing to help the ATM guard, Chairman and CEO Parvez Ahmad said, The guards presence of mind and courage is commendable indeed for which the cash award is merely a token of appreciation from the bank. However, I am deeply moved by the cooperation that the locals of the area have extended, that too, in the dead of night. It serves as a great source of inspiration for us and will further strengthen the bond of trust that the bank shares with the people of J&K.
I extend my gratitude to the entire locality there for taking care of the banks asset as their own asset and it was their timely intervention only that has played a key role in averting the burglary. And I expect people across the state to safeguard the banks assets in the same manner, for J&K Bank is their institution in financial and emotional sense, he added.
