JAMMU: Taking a serious note of an advertisement issued by the Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC) in some newspapers on Saturday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has called for putting all the activities highlighted in the said advertisement on hold in view of the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
The ECI has taken a serious note of the advertisement issued by the State Sports Council in violation of the Model Code of Conduct and has called for putting all the activities mentioned in the said advertisement by JKSSC on hold, said Shantmanu, Chief Electoral Officer, J&K.
He said that ECI has also called for sensitizing the media about the prohibition on publishing of such official advertisements which violate the MCC.
