SRINAGAR: Marking third such incident in the last seven days in Kashmir Valley, militants ransacked the house of a senior police official in Kulgam village on Tuesday evening.
At least four militants on Tuesday night, according to police, ransacked the house of Superintendent of Police (SP) Hazratbal in Khudwani village in Kulgam.
The militants barged into the house of Mohammad Ayub Mattoo father of SP Hazratbal, Dawood Mattoo, and threatened the inmates before leaving the house.
After the incident, forces reached the spot and searches were conducted but the militants had fled the area.
Sources said that this is the third attempt when the family of Dawood was targeted by militants in last few months.
Pertinently, for last one week, militants barged into the house of three police officers in Kashmir. Militants Monday night ransacked the house of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Dilbar Ahmad and his brother Reyaz Ahmad, also a police officer, at village Dairoo in Shopian. The militants fired in the air outside the house before fleeing.
Three days before, militants abducted and later let off the brother and son of a police officer in Budgam District and also torched his car.
