Srinagar: Accusing New Delhi of giving free hand to Army, National Conference Wednesday said that clear cut directions have been given to Indian Forces to inflict maximum damages to property and life during encounters in Kashmir Valley.
National Conference senior leader and former Minister, Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal told CNS that Army deployed in Kashmir is responsible for the death and destruction as they operate with a clear intent to kill and damage property. The job of army is not to target civilians. Is it the job of Army to enter into civilian localities and harass the people there? The job of Army is not to drag passengers from vehicles and humiliate them, he said and added that the intentions of New Delhi are not pure with regard to Kashmir and its citizens.
Kamal said that the recent incidents in Kashmir prove that India has declared a war on the people of Kashmir. To kill a single militant, maximum ammunition is used just to damage properties and kill civilians. How can peace prevail when you make encounter a routine and tool to oppress people, he questioned and demanded that army should be stopped from taking part in encounters. (CNS)
