SRINAGAR: Normal life remained crippled for the second successive day on Tuesday in some parts of south Kashmir district of Pulwama, where two local militants of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) were killed in an encounter with armed forces on Sunday.
Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads in Padgampora, Nazneenpora and Rajpora in Pulwama district. However, few private vehicles could be seen plying on some routes in Pulwama, where work in government offices and banks was also affected due to strike.
Meanwhile, education institutes wore a deserted look as students preferred to stay indoors in support of the strike.
Additional security force and police personnel remain deployed to prevent any law and order problem in these areas.
