Srinagar: In continuation of the demolition drive launched by the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) through its Enforcement Wing, the authorities on Friday raised down three illegal constructions in jurisdiction of LAWDA.
According to the statement issued to KNS, the violator constructed a big hut in Brari Numabal, second violator raising walling near Shalimar Channel while the third person was raising first floor at Teilbal area. All the three constructions were today raised down, the officials said, adding that these are brazen violation of High Court (HC) directions.
Meanwhile, the LAWDA officials warned people against raising illegal structures in and around the Dal and Nigeen lakes in the city.
The officials said that despite repeated warnings, several greedy and vested interests are frequently trying to raise illegal constructions around the Dal and Nigeen lakes.
They should desist from raising such constructions and cooperate with the department or face action, the officials said and also warned the truckers against carrying construction material to the area and vehicles plying in the area without permission will be seized and action initiated against the owners.
