SRINAGAR: A team of Legal Metrology Department today conducted market checking in Srinagar.
The team inspected various markets including Batamalloo, Khonmoh ,Bemina and booked 11 erring traders for violating various provisions of Legal Metrology Act and realized Rs 18,800 as fine from the defualters.
In response to the complaints received on official phone number of the department regarding LPG subsidy/overcharging on refill cylinders and non availability of home delivery service of refill cylinders, the Department penalized three LPG distributors (Authorized home delivery persons) for indulging in overcharging on refill cylinders and realized a penal sum of Rs 15000 from.
It was said that, the present rate of refill LPG cylinder is Rs 852.50 in district Srinagar of which the subsidy amount is Rs 396.50 is credited into the bank account of the consumer.
