SOPORE: Traders federation Sopore held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the problems being faced by the inhabitants of the Sopore area in general and Shopkeepers in particular. They allege police of failing to nab the robbers.
The trader community of Sopore gathered at Traders Federation Office on Tuesday and held a protest demonstration, amid anti-police slogans.
The increasing number of robberies and burglaries in Sopore is the proof of incompetence of police, said President Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganie while speaking to the media during the meeting.
He added that the situation has created panic among the traders as well as citizens in the town.
The members said that robbers were roaming freely in the markets and traders had to suffer financial losses due to the Sopore polices failure.
They said that police help the robbers by not registering FIRs against them and also used delaying tactics.
Meanwhile Police told PTK, We had already launched crackdowns against robbers and drug dealers, while few have been already arrested and are behind the bars.
Police added that their efforts are continue to make town free from robbers.
