KANGAN: The students of Government High school Kullan in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district Monday protested against the non-availability of the required teaching staff in the school.
Large number of vehicles got stranded on both sides of the road due to protests by students and their parents.
The parents alleged that due to shortage of teaching staff in the school, their children have suffered.
The non-availability of teachers is jeopardising our career, said a protesting student.
The parents of the agitating students said that it was unfortunate that despite having good strength of students in schools located in different villages, the education department was not providing adequate staff to them while the schools in towns are overcrowded with the staff.
The agitating students along with their parents blocked the busy Sgr-Leh highway for several hours and urged the department of education to depute more teachers to their School so that their career is not spoiled.
Sources told Press trust of Kashmir that some teachers of the school were transferred recently adding that the issue would be resolved by posting of teachers in next few days.
We are looking into the matter and the grievance of the students will be addressed very soon, he added. (PTK)
