Jammu: A day after a group of rightwing activists tried to fan communal violence in Jammu, Jammu Muslim Front Monday demanded an impartial probe into the incident and appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Police Chief Dr SP Ved to personally look into the matter and expose those vested elements who have been hell-bent on creating a wedge between the Hindu and Muslim communities living in the region.
Pertinently, on Sunday, nearly hundred youth riding motorbikes came to Muslim populated Talab Khatikhan area in Jammu city and shouted provocative slogans at a time when Muslims were busy offering prayers inside the Grand Mosque.
We have enough reasons to believe that there are certain elements who want to polarise the situation in Jammu. Those who indulged in such kind of activity on Sunday and tried to provoke youth from Muslim community should be booked and a thorough probe should be done to reach at the truth, Imran Qazi, chairman Jammu Muslim Front told Kashmir Observer over phone from Jammu.
He said that such an unfortunate incident has occurred first time in the area. This is a Muslim area and we fail to understand why the youth from other community entered here and tried to provoke the Muslim community. The irony is that instead of condemning the incident, fanatics tried to justify the action of the anti-peace elements, he said.
