KANGAN : Property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed today in a devastating fire in the Central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, official source said here.
They said fire broke out in a shop at main market Kangan in Ganderbal district early this morning. Before the fire tenders could reach there, the blaze spread to other nearby shops.
Sources told PTK that four shops and other property worth lakhs of rupees were damaged. The affected shopkeepers were identified as Mohd Altaf Mir of Kangan, Abdul Majid Talli Eidgah Srinagar, Ghulam Mohammad Sherguhagari of Cherwan.
The cause of fire was not known, sources said, adding that no one was injured. (PTK)
