SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, on Friday appealed the people to stay away from counter-insurgency operation sites for their own safety.
The Div expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Aamir Nazir and Jalaludin in Pulwama. He said his heart goes out to the families of the bereaved, an official spokesperson said.
Khan said, assembling at the encounter sites is fraught with danger as nobody can predict the trajectory of a bullet and there is also a danger of bullet hitting people after ricocheting. People should remain away from such sites to ensure their safety.
He appealed the parents, community elders and prayer leaders to counsel and advise youths to stay away from counter-insurgency operation sites.
