SRINAGAR: J&K Police on Wednesday said that their men busted a Hizbul Mujahideen module by arresting its three members in Bemina area of Srinagar this afternoon.
A police party of West zone Srinagar during naka checking at Bemina Bypass crossing apprehended three suspects identified as Reyaz Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Ramzan Wani, resident of Dachan Kishtwar; Ikhlaq Ahmad Khanday, son of Ghulam Rasool Khanday, resident of Dachan Kishtwar, and Tawseeul-Nabi, son of Ghulam Nabi Gundroo, resident of main Kishtwar, J&K police spokesperson said in a statement. On their checking, police recovered 02 Pistols, 02 Pistol Magazines, 20 rounds, 04 grenades, 01 wireless set and a packet of explosive substance.
During preliminary investigation, the police spokesperson said, it surfaced that the trio was working with Jahangeer, an active militant in Kishtwar.
The spokesperson added that police have registered a case FIR number 41/2017 under section 7/25 Arms Act, 3/5 Explosive Substance Act against these militants and further investigation has been taken up.
