SOPORE): Hundreds of people assembled raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans after the congregational prayers in old Jamia Masjid in Sopore, which triggered clashes.
Reports said that soon after Friday prayers people took out a march amid sloganeering, demanding release of youth arrested by the police.
Security forces deployed in the area resort to tear gas shells to disperse the on protesters who in return pelted stone on the forces.
Reports of clashes between have been received from Jamia Qadeem area in the town.
