JAMMU: Without any change, aggrieved PDP MLA Sangrama, Syed Basharat Bukhari, who earlier resigned after getting horticulture portfolio following a reshuffle in the cabinet, on Monday joined back as the horticulture minister.
Confirming the development, Syed Basharat Bukhari, said that after an hour long meeting with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, he rejoined the Cabinet and took charge of the Horticulture portfolio.
Yes, I have taken the charge of Horticulture Ministry, Bukhari told CNS.
Rejecting the rumors that he had tendered his resignation over the issue of portfolio, Bukhari said, No portfolio was not the issue but certain developments over the period were looming large there but now I hope everything goes well.
Asking whether it was general discussion, Bukhari said, No not general issues but very serious which have bearing on state. And also brought home the point how some people had been trying to destabilize the equations in the party.
Pertinently, Bukhari along with Imran Raza Ansari had resigned from the Cabinet the day when Syed Altaf Bukhari was inducted into the Cabinet on last Friday. Basharat Bukhari was upset after he was stripped off from portfolios of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation. He held back to back meetings with Chief Minister and her brother in Srinagar and several other PDP members before taking over the less significant hosticulture department.
