SRINAGAR: J&K Police on Friday said that their men arrested two persons along with answer sheets of students in Srinagar.
During the intervening night of 16th and 17th of February 2017, police spokesperson said, police station Kralkhud, Srinagar intercepted two persons travelling in a Maruti car bearing registration number JK01N-2133 during a naka at SRTC bridge. A bundle of answer sheets of BA final year exams was recovered from their possession.
On questioning, the accused disclosed that they in connivance with two more persons used to steal papers from strong room of Womens College Srinagar. Then they would hand them over to one more person who would write them at some undisclosed location, the police spokesperson detailed.
Later on, the accused persons would deposit the papers back in the strong room of Women’s College Srinagar. The questioning of the accused is going on and further arrests are also expected, the spokesperson added.
A case FIR number 01/2017 under section 379 RPC stands registered into the matter and further investigation is going on, it added.
Notably, the academic affairs of Womens College Srinagar come under the University of Kashmir.
