New Delhi: Peoples Democratic Party founder member and former MP Tariq Hameed Karra Saturday joined the Indian National Congress in New Delhi
He joined the party in the presence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, Reports said.
Karra was among the founding members of PDP. He was not happy with the PDP-BJP alliance, and called it an unnatural alliance.
He resigned from the Parliament seat and also resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party during the 2016 summer unrest
He had accused the alliance of mishandling the Kashmir situation.
Earlier State Congress chief G A Mir said that Karra’s position in the party will be decided by the party high command led by Rahul Gandhi.
They will decide which position he will hold in the state congress, Mir said.
