SRINAGAR: Though the Valley received light intermittent rains from Saturday morning, the weather department on Saturday predicted heavy rain or snowfall over the state in next 24 hours.
Talking to KNS, the officials in the Meteorological (MeT) department said, there is possibility of moderate to heavy rain/snowfall at most of the places across the state in next 24 hours.
He said that the Valley would receive very heavy rain or snowfall at most of the places in the next 24 hours.
The weather conditions would improve from the Monday morning as the Valley would receive fresh rain or snowfall till Monday morning, he added.
Pertinently, the intermittent rains lashed Valley since the wee hours of this morning.
The Valley had also received heavy snowfall in the past weeks, which resulted in the closure of 300 km long Srinagar-Jammu highway for couple of days.
The heavy snowfall also led to the damage of more than 300 PDD transformers thereby resulted in hardships among the inhabitants of several areas.
