Srinagar: Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday said that killing civilians in the garb of armed encounters amounts to state sponsored terrorism.
In a statement, Malik said, Recent intimidating statement of Indian army chief, ministers and police authorities are like encouraging this ugly trend.
Condemning the recent attacks on civilians in which many civilians got martyred and dozens got injured, Malik said, People of Jammu Kashmir have been striving for their freedom from illegal occupation and their sentiments are well known. Because overwhelming majority of Kashmiris stands with the cause of freedom therefore recent statements by Indian officials are actually a direct threat to all Kashmiris.
He said that in 1990 when whole of Kashmir was on roads, demanding freedom in a peaceful manner, it was Indian armed forces and their perpetrated massacres that provoked thousands of Kashmiris to join armed struggle.
Today Indian army chief, ministers and other officials by issuing such ridiculous and threatening statements want to repeat the same history and push thousands of peaceful resistance lovers towards armed struggle which only indicates towards their lack of political maturity and human sensitivity, the JKLF chief said.
He said that showering bullets and pellets on civil population or peaceful protestors amounts to state sponsored terrorism and recent assertions of Indian leadership are actually promoting violence and cruelty which is highly condemnable.
While condemning the recent attacks in Pakistani cities of Lahore, Karachi Sindh etc, JKLF chairman said, Attacks on innocent humans in Masajid, Shrines, religious places, markets and killing innocent unarmed civilians is only savagism and no human can tolerate such kind of heinous inhumanity.
While praying for those martyred in these attacks, JKLF chairman expressed sympathies with their bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of injured.
Meanwhile, on united resistance leadership program, JKLF leaders and activists along with people from all walks of life in large numbers staged a peaceful protest sit-in at Budshah Chowk Lal Chowk today.
The protest sit-in and rally was organized to protest against the recent upsurge in civilian killings by Indian forces.
Prior to the protest rally and sit-in, funeral prayer in absentia was held for the victims of recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
JKLF leaders Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Siraj Ud din Mir, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Muhammad Sideeq Shah and others participated in the protest sit in and rally.
While condemning the recent civilian killings and statements of Indian authorities, JKLF leaders said civilian killings and massacres cannot deter us from perusing the path of freedom and resistance.
Also police have re-arrested a JKLF senior Moulvi Reyaz in Baramullah yesterday. Molvi Reyaz was incarcerated under PSA and was released on court orders but soon after his release he was again taken into custody by police and is lodged now at police station Kreeri, the JKLF spokesman said.
While strongly condemning the re-arrest, JKLF has termed it as worst oppression.
