Kulgam. A fierce gunfight between militants and government forces started in Frisal village of Kulgam district Sunday.
Reports said that locals heard few gunshots during wee hours which were followed by heavy firing.
Police sources said that forces cordoned off Frisal after a tip off about the presence of militants.
When forces where laying siege around the village and zeroing in they were fired upon by the hiding militants, they said.
Police sources said that the militants are hiding in Nagbal area of the village and an operation against them was going on.
