Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police has recovered three girls, kidnapped in separate incidents, and arrested two kidnappers while another is on the run in north Kashmir district of Bandipora.
A police spokesperson here today said that on December 27 last year, Police Station Pethkote received a complaint from one Farooq Ahmad Lone that his daughter was allegedly kidnapped by one Saqib Rashid Yatoo at Badebait Mantirigam in Bandipora.
He said a case was registered and investigation was taken up, adding after following various leads, the girl was recovered and the kidnapper was also apprehended.
Police Post Aloosa received a complaint by one Mohammad Rafiq Khuroo on January 11, 2017 that his daughter was allegedly kidnapped by one Nisar Ahmad Dar at Kehnoosa in Bandipora.
After registering a complaint, investigation was taken up to nab the accused and recovered the kidnapped girl. He said various places were raided and eventually the girl was recovered within 24 hours.
However, he said the kidnapper was still on the run, adding a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
The spokesperson said on January 12, 2017, one Ghulam Qadir Sofi filed a complaint at Police Station Aragam that his daughter was allegedly kidnapped by one Hilal Ahmad Fafoo at Brar in Bandipora.
An investigation was taken up and after following various leads, the girl was recovered and the kidnapper was arrested in less than 12 hours.
