Srinagar:A massive fire damaged several shops, a bank and post office on Court road in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar Friday morning.
The fire has caused extensive damage to the building housing Punjab National Bank, some shops and a post office, reports said.
An official of Fire and Emergency (F&E) said that about two dozen fire tenders and other vehicles were rushed from F&E headquarters at Batamaloo and other parts of the city.
He said exact details about the loss in the fire was being ascertained but Punjab National Bank (PNB) and Vijya Bank besides a post office and about 20 shops and business establishments were damaged in the incident.
Since it was still smoldering, several fire tenders were still there. The cause of fire was not immediately known, he said adding that no injuries were reported.
