Jammu: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has welcomed the Budget 2017-18 presented in both Houses of State Legislature on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister said many of the social interventions, including relief to horticulture, agriculture, transport and allied sectors have been aimed to settle some of the chronic issues which have assumed a huge social magnitude in the State.
Mehbooba Mufti said taking cognizance of the frequent delays in disbursement of salaries to the employees engaged under various centrally sponsored schemes, the Government, through this budget, has decided to delink their salaries with the source of funding of these schemes, thus ensuring timely and periodic release of salaries in favour of such employees.
The Chief Minister hoped the pre-ponement of the funds released would facilitate timely execution of development works in the State which often get delayed due to late releases.
