Srinagar: The melting of snow since last night resulted in the inundation of Srinagar especially the City areas thereby resulted in sufferings to the local inhabitants.
The inhabitants of the city areas accused Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) authorities of ignoring their plights and demanded immediate redressal of their genuine grievances.
The residents of several areas including Habba Kadal, Baba Demb, Khanyar, Barbar Shah, Noorbagh and several other areas said that they are facing tremendous hardships due to inundation of muddy water that caused following the melting of snow in the area.
They said that the chocked drainage in their areas usually led to their sufferings. The authorities must not ignore our plights and should immediately repair the chocked drainage system, they said.
Inhabitants said that they appealed several times to the authorities to look into the matter but unfortunately their plea left in deaf ears.
The residents later appealed higher ups to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at earliest.
