SRINAGAR: Residents of Many villages of North Kashmirs district Bandipora including Watapora, Qazipora, Putushay, Quilmuqam and Onagam have been badly hit due to frequent cuts in the harsh winter days.
The residents said that Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to supply uninterrupted power supply to the inhabitants.
We do not receive proper power supply as per schedule and frequent power cuts have become a daily affair now, the villagers said.
Most of the areas in Aloosa Tehsil are reeling complete darkness due to frequent and long power cuts in the area.
Students are also worst hit, as they couldnt study after dusk. Our exams are going on and due to shortage of Power supply we have to face a lot of hardships. We have been repeatedly asking authorities to fix this problem but to no avail, said a student, Junaid Ahmad from Watapora.
The electricity is playing hide and seek from the past ten days, frequent power cuts result in unbearable hardships to us. Students who are appearing in different Board and University exams cant study properly, complained a Student of Putushay.
Though, DC Bandipora Sajad Hassan Ganie has directed all officers to ensure all facilities to people during this chilly season but PDD is turning a deaf ear. (PTK)
