Jammu: Religious leader Sarjan Barkati would be languishing in Kot-Balwal jail in Jammu but he seems to be an inspiration to some members of the opposition National Conference who have learnt well his art of sloganeering which they displayed openly in the Assembly on Monday.
Until today the slogansYeh Pellet-Bullet Na Bhai Na Yeh Pava, Shava Na Bai Na PSA Sarkar Na Bhai Nawere the trademark of Sarjan Barkati but the NC legislators have overtaken the distinction.
Sarjan Barkati , popularly known as pied piper of south Kashmir had risen to fame for his unique way of sloganeering that would pull a crowd in thousands during the 2016 uprising, might be in jail these days, but his slogans Monday reverberated in the J&K Legislative Assembly.
Barkati rendered these slogans during pro-freedom rallies at Pinjoora Shopian, Redwani Kulgam rally and other dozens of pro-freedom rallies.
Barkati was arrested near Wanpoh in Anantnag on October 1, and is presently lodged at Kot-Balwal jail in Jammu. (KNS)
