Srinagar: Asserting that the basic theme of his budgets have been to make things easier for people, Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu today said the current budget will consolidate and do a stock taking of the last three budgets tabled by PDP-BJP coalition government.
The Finance Minister will present the state budget in the upcoming Assembly session on January 11 in the winter capital, Jammu.
I tried to impart human face to finance by making lives of people easier, be it employees or others. This year we will continue will some of these important organizational changes. Plus some reform measures, Dr Drabu told reports on the sideline of unveiling ceremony of J&K Bank calendar 2017 here today.
He said because the last budget was presented in July, it has been just six months, this budget will consolidate and do a stock taking of previous three budgets.
Dr Drabu said finance should not be seen as a constraining department, but something that aids development.
So far we have tried to lot of reforms. Last year did a reform on Provident Fund (PF), this year also we will continue doing some reforms. The basic theme of my budget has been to make things easier for people. And finance should not be seen as a constraining department, but something that aids development, he said.
