HANDWARA: Incumbent MLA Langate Er Rasheed Friday visited Wadder Payeen Handwara where more than a dozen houses were dashed to earth in a devastating fire and expressed solidarity with the fire victims.
A statement of Rasheeds party Awami Ittehad Party issued here said, Rasheed paid an amount of Rs 10,000 per family on behalf of Joint Effort Trust (JET) and appealed government employees to donate one days salary to JET by depositing it in Joint Effort Trusts account No SB/1130 in J&K Bank Branch Qalamabad for the rehabilitation of fire victims.
He appealed masses to discharge their collective duties towards society by helping each other in need.
Rasheed, according to the statement, appealed government to establish a fire extinguishing station at a convenient place in Rajwar and added it is horrible that in more than 50 villages of Rajwar there is no fire extinguishing station.
He sought package for victims on the pattern that government provided to fire victims of Kishtwar and Dalgate few weeks back.
