SRINAGAR:Private Schools Association of Kashmir (PSAK) Wednesday welcomed the full days relaxation given by Joint Hurriyat leadership and said that schools will work overtime to fulfil the needs of all students in this window period.
The Association said that this is an open reality that Resistance Leadership has never been against education and it is the extraordinary circumstances that pushed us to this situation. “Hurriyat leadership have always been vocal for continuation of education of students but when life becomes a priority then nobody can help it,” said G N Var president PSAK. “Now when Resistance Leadership has decided to allow full days relaxation, our schools will try to compensate for all the lost working days during these days of relaxation.”
The Association has asked all its schools to provide helping hand to every student. “Be it their books, assignments, counselling or other needs, our staff will be glad to help them,” said Var. “We have already ordered all the schools to prepare for opening day. Schools have also been asked to help the students who suffered during the turmoil period.”
The Association urged all the stakeholders to make education apolitical. “This is high time that education should be kept aloof of all the politics. Our schools should be allowed to function in peaceful environment,” said Var. “We appeal to leaders to declare that school buses should be treated as equal to that of ambulance and school as hospitals. Entire education sector should be declared as emergency sector which has to function under any circumstances.”
