Bandipora:At least two militants who were trapped in Ajar area of Bandipora early Tuesday are believed to have escaped after exchanging fires with government forces, sources said .
Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants in Peer Masjid area of Ajar Bandipora, a joint team of 14 Rashtriya Rifles, SOG and police (SOG) early Tuesday had launched a search operation and cordoned a residential house, said an army official .
However, militants fired on the forces triggering an encounter.
However, the militants are believed to have escaped from the site of the encounter.
