Srinagar: Despite restrictions and curfew imposed in Shalimar Srinagar, Zuljanah procession led by president J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian and senior Hurriyat leader Aga Syed Hassan Almosvi Alsafvi taken out as per past practice in view of martyrdom of Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (a.s).
According to a statement issued to KNS, Aga Syed Hassan could not participate in the procession in Shalimar due to continuous detention. Procession took out from the house of Ali Mohd Khan in the inspectorate of Aga Muntazir Mehdi son of Aga Sahab which later culminated in the Imambara Gulshan Ali Shalimar.
Large number of devotees succeeded by link roads, field of crops and crossed the waterways to reach the destination.
While condemning the unannounced curfew in area and ban imposed by State Administration on 25thMuharram procession at Shalimar Srinagar, Aga Sahab said the procession takes out every year peacefully by the support of people residing the area. Aga Hassan declared the evil elements and its supporters with embarrassment.
While paying rich tributes to the practical role of Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (a.s), he said, Imam Sajad (a.s) preserved the message of Ashura till the resurrection day for the upcoming offspring. He said, such busy evil elements could not succeed in their ambitions to disrupt the 25th Muharram procession. (KNS)
