BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, chaired an officers meeting to finalize arrangements for the Urs of Alamdar -i-Kashmir, Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Sahib, which starts from October 26.
During the meeting threadbare discussions were held on various arrangements to be put in place for Urs days and to facilitate hassle free visit of devotees to the Shrine.
The DC stressed for making adequate arrangements of uninterrupted electric power supply, drinking water supply, medicare, transportation and cleanliness in and around the Shrine complex.
He directed the PDD officials to ensure that all street lights are made fully functional in cooperation with Yousmarg Development Authority.
The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department officials were directed to ensure adequate and advance distribution of ration, sugar and LPG to the locals. It was decided to provide additional 1 Kg of Sugar to inhabitants of Chrar i Sharief and its adjoining areas.
The officials of Cooperatives and Animal Husbandry Departments were directed to set up mobile vans to provide poultry birds at 10% concession than prescribed Government rates.
It was also decided to set up joint control room involving officials from Health, Engineering wings, Police and other concerned departments with Tehsildar Chrar Sharief designated as nodal officer to redress issues, if any during the Urs days.
Mirwaiz- i- Chrar Sharief and Shrine administrators also attended the meeting and gave their suggestions for smooth conduct of the Urs.
