IUM Urges Muslims To Join Muharram Processions

Srinagar: Ittehadul Muslimeen, (IUM) a key religio-political body of Shia community Thursday announced its Muharram programme declaring that all major processions will be taken out despite government restrictions.

"As the people in Jammu & Kashmir are fighting for just cause for the last 7 decades, the valley is witnessing Karbala almost every day. Here every land has become Karbala and every day is Ashoora", a statement listing the programme said.

According to the statement, the schedule of Muharram processions was prepared in coordination with the joint resistance leadership. IUM has called upon 'all freedom loving people' to participate in the processions.
