SRINAGAR: Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) through its Enforcement Wing Saturday demolished 11 illegal constructions, structures at Laam, Karpora Cheshma Shahi, Northern Foreshore Road, Gupt Ganga and Lashkar Mohalla of Srinagar.
The demolitions were part of on-going drive of the LAWDA to remove illegally raised structures in their jurisdictions, an official spokesperson said this evening.
Enforcement Officer LAWDA Srinagar said the drive to remove illegal structures and constructions in their jurisdiction will continue and elements creating hurdles in the process will be dealt under law.
He said people residing within the LAWDA jurisdiction are directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions. He also said that Tipper/Load carrier owners should not carry construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/Nigeen Lake without permission.
