Srinagar: The residents of various areas of Khati Darwaza locality in Srinagar on Friday said that paramilitary CRPF personnel ransacked their houses and beat up the inmates.
“CRPF men barged into our house, beat and abused us and smashed the glasses of our windows,” a group of women from General Bagh Kathidarwaza told news agency adding that it has become a routine affair for these CRPF men to harass women and forcibly enter into the houses.
The locals said that CRPF men from Pokhribal camp ransack houses and damage parked vehicles on daily basis. “People organized a peaceful protest after Friday prayers but these CRPF men pelted stones on the houses and thrashed men, women and an Imam of a mosque,” they said.
“There was no stone-pelting going on in the area. Yet, they abused and harassed us and caused damage to the private property,” they said. (CNS)
