Srinagar: In what can only be called as an extremely selfish move, Delhi Public School (DPS), Srinagar has asked its students to deposit the fee for the past 2 months of unrest.
A delegation of parents told Kashmir Observer that they received an SMS from the school authorities asking them to deposit fee for the months of July, August and September in the school account.
“This is not fair. Most of us are businessmen and have not earned anything in the past two months. How are we supposed to pay the fee”, a parent requesting anonymity complained. “Our children are sitting at home from last two months. They haven’t attended any classwork. I fail to understand why we are being asked to pay for these months when the school has been closed”, another parent complained.
The school had also recently decided to conduct the mid-term exams for which they had even designated specific exam centres. The exam however had to be cancelled as the exam centres had come under the wrath of angry protestors in several areas.
All schools, including the ones in the city, have remained closed since July as the Valley is witnessing its worst turmoil.
