SRINAGAR:The all-party delegation led by union home minister Rajnath Singh has landed at Shiekhul Aalam Airport in Srinagar.
A 26 member delegation is scheduled to meet a “cross section” of society in SKICC convention centre on the banks of Dal Lake.
The visit comes a day after union home minister Rajnath Singh approved the use of PAVA shells in Kashmir. Earlier, Singh had told reporters in Srinagar that government was mulling to ban the use of pellet guns in the valley and replace them with less lethal weapons. However, reports said that alongside PAVA shells pellets will also stay in use.
Notably, Pro-freedom leadership, traders’ bodies and other organisations have already boycotted the APD, terming it a futile exercise.
