Srinagar: – Intense clashes and protests were reported from the Shalteng area of Srinagar on Friday.
According to Sources, thousands of People occupied Shalteng Chowk after the Friday prayers and tried to march towards Lalchowk but police and CRPF swung into action and lobbed dozens of tear gas and PAVA shells.
“The pro-freedom protestors came from Zainakote, Mustafabad, Umarabad, Shalteng and Maloora areas,” sources said.
The locals said that protestors marched towards Mustafabad and Umarabad where clashes are going on this time, reports said.
The residents complained that it has become almost impossible to breathe due to everyday tear gas shelling in the area.
