Kulgam: After Pulwama, the political activists from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district publically announced their resignations from mainstream politics on Friday.
Eyewitnesses told news agency CNS that all but half a dozen workers affiliated with Communist Party of India (Marxist) and National Conference publically announced their resignations. Their resignations were read out publically by Imams at Bogam village of the district.
The locals identified these workers as Ali Muhammad Koka, Muhammad Yousuf Koka, Fayaz Ahmed Koka, Muhammad Yousuf Rather, Ghulam Hasan Rather, Ghulam Nabi Hajam all activists of CPI(M) and Mushtaq Ahmed Shah of National Conference. All these workers according to eyewitnesses while parting their ways with the political parties pledged to support the ongoing mass movement.
Confirming the incident, a police official said that political activists are parting ways in restive areas under ‘public pressure’ and out of fear.
Pertinently, scores of political workers and Panchs and Sarpanchs resigned publically a few days back in different hamlets of Pulwama district. (CNS)
